This story has been updated with the charges for all four youths in connection with the homicide.
Three teens and a 12-year-old boy have been charged in connection with the shooting death of a man on Columbus’ East Side.
Two boys, ages 15 and 12, were charged May 2 with aggravated murder, murder and aggravated robbery in the April 28 death of Jamal Jones, 34, Columbus police said. On May 6, two girls, ages 17 and 15, were also arrested on the same charges for their involvement in the incident.
Although Columbus police have identified the four youths, The Dispatch generally does not identify juveniles charged in crimes at this early stage in the legal process.
Police responding to multiple calls about shots fired in the area found Jones suffering from a gunshot wound at 4:08 a.m. April 28 in the 1300 block of Fountain Lane.
Columbus Division of Fire medics transported Jones to Mount Carmel East Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:38 a.m., police said.
Police said a 36-year-old man was also robbed by the teens on April 28.
