Columbus Recreation and Parks website listed all of its pools as closed on May 24, with the four that were expected to be opened noted to be closed due to water temperature being low.
It did not say what the water temperature was, but the National Weather Service in Wilmington, Ohio was reporting an outside temperature of 73 in Columbus shortly after 12 p.m. on May 24.
Columbus city pools were scheduled to open in phases prior to the summer season beginning this weekend, in part due to construction, according to recreation and parks.
Dodge, Driving, Glenwood and Tuttle parks pools were scheduled to open May 23 before transitioning to full summer hours June 6. The pools were also closed on May 23 due to water temperature, according to the department’s website.
Lincoln Park, Maryland and Windsor pools are set to open June 6. Marion Franklin pool remains under construction this summer.
Spraygrounds at Barnett, Blackburn and Scioto were also listed as closed on the city website on May 24.
