CANTON — It is finally game day.
The Shelby Whippets (14-0) take on the Glenville Tarblooders (11-3) for the Division IV Ohio High School Athletic Association Football State Championship at 10:30 a.m. Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton.
The Whippets are searching for the program’s first state championship, while Glenville is trying to win three in four years.

Glenville punts after a fumble on a third-down play put them at their own 40-yard line. Shelby will take over.

Glenville wins the toss and defers
The Shelby Whippets will start with the football after Glenville wins the opening coin flip and defers to the second half. The Shelby offense that has scored 30 points in 15 straight games and 40 in four straight will play offense to open the game.
Shelby vs Glenville for the Division IV state championship
The 2025 Shelby Whippets are historic. For the first time in program history, the Whippets will play for a state football championship thanks to a dominating 42-7 win over Indian Hill in the semifinals. At 14-0, the Whippets now have the program record for wins in a single season as well as overall winning streak.
The Tarblooders are back in the state championship game for the fifth time in program history and are looking for a third state title in four years after winning it in 2022 and 2023.
