Second suspect charged in murder investigation of elderly Port Clinton man

PORT CLINTON – Charges have been filed against the second suspect in the murder investigation of Warren Taylor, 86, of Port Clinton. Taylor’s body was discovered at 2641 E. Harbor Road on July 19.

The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office arrested Shawn M. Gooden, 51, of Toledo, on July 22 and indicted him with aggravated murder, murder, aggravated burglary and theft from a protected class, tampering with evidence and receiving stolen property, according to a press release.

Deputies also arrested Iesha Renaee Goodell, age 34, of Toledo, in relation to that crime on July 24.

On July 28, Goodell was charged with receiving stolen property and complicity to aggravated murder. She is being held in the Ottawa County Detention Facility after an appearance in Ottawa County Common Municipal Court on July 29. Additional charges are pending.

A sheriff’s captain reported no new information at this time.
