Police identify 15-year-old boy killed in South Franklinton shooting

Police identified a 15-year-old boy killed in a shooting in a South Franklinton apartment complex.

Officers responded to a shooting at about 5:48 p.m. July 22 in the 700 block of Canonby Place in the Southpark Apartments complex, according to a Columbus police news release.

Medics brought Deniro Arnold, 15, to a local hospital in critical condition. He was pronounced dead at 6:16 p.m.

Medics also transported an adult to a local hospital in critical condition.

Columbus police Lt. April Redick told a reporter at the scene Arnold and the adult were both involved in the shooting. He said police detained five witnesses, and a large crowd of apartment complex residents gathered after the shooting.
