McConnell was driving when he traveled into the grass and then returned to the roadway before he lost control, according to the police department’s preliminary investigation. The motorcycle then moved back to the median, where he was ejected.

He was taken to the University of Cincinnati West Chester Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. McConnell was not wearing a helmet, police said.

The crash is still under investigation.
