Tigers analyst Dan Petry proves he's still got game with foul-ball catch

Dan Petry showed that he’s still got game.

Petry, the former champion with the 1984 Detroit Tigers and TV analyst with Detroit SportsNet, made a catch in the broadcast booth on Friday night … with his baseball glove.

In the sixth inning with two outs and Spencer Torkelson at the plate against the Los Angeles Angels at Angel Park in Anaheim, Calif., Torkelson fouled off a pitch which was caught by Petry.

“That was fun,” Petry said on the broadcast.

“You acted like you’ve done that before,” play-by-play announcer Jason Benetti said.

The inning before, actor JK Simmons of Grosse Pointe was in the broadcast booth with Benetti and Petry and even tried on Petry’s glove.

Petry said he’ll wear the glove when they’re close to the action, like they are in Anaheim.
