Uniforms can be a polarizing topic in a place like Columbus, especially when it comes to the tradition-rich Ohio State football program. On Sunday, OSU social media teased some sort of uniform announcement, and that came to fruition as expected at 6:14 p.m. Monday, when the reveal was a return of the all-black uniforms, but with a twist.
This time, the uniforms that were shared had the gray sleeves known as the “Heritage Stripes,” worn often for some big games, only ever since the team went with the black and white stripes on the sleeves to match the helmet. Fans have been clamouring for the return of the gray stripes on the sleeve, and according to “Eleven Warriors,” that change is supposed to carry over to all uniforms this year, but we’ve yet to hear that announcement.
In the meantime, though, the all-black uniforms and helmets with the gray stripes look pretty sharp and are being called “Tunnel Vision.” There’s been no announcement which game these beauties will be worn in, but when that is made known, we’ll be excited to bring it to you.
Here’s the series of social media posts that will give you a complete look at the ensemble Ohio State will don for an upcoming game this fall.
While we’re talking about uniforms, we did a ranking of the top five Ohio State alternate uniforms in the recent past, and depending on how you look at it, it was either a hit or a rage post. Where would these “Tunnel Vision” uniforms fit? Hmmm, stay tuned … maybe.
