After 28 years serving the Columbus community, Lemongrass Fusion Bistro at 641 N. High St. will celebrate its last day June 28.
Penthouse Social Club, a supper club that has been running a farewell week at Lemongrass, will be host an R&B day party at Lemongrass today from 3 to 6 p.m., which will transition into a hip-hop and R&B celebration after 6 p.m., according to an Instagram post.
No new tenant has been confirmed for the space. Previous news reports that Penthouse Social Club will take over the space are inaccurate, owner of Lemongrass Jesse Vitt said in an email.
“The Penthouse is its own entity and business,” Vitt said. “I may personally partner with them to do something in the future, but as of now I’m not sure. Lemongrass, if sold, will remain Lemongrass or turn into something else entirely. “
Jesse Vitt told the Dispatch it’s been a tough couple years for the restaurant industry due to economic challenges and changing consumer habits.
“We appreciate all the patrons over the years – it’s our honor that we’ve touched other people’s lives who have been a part of Lemongrass,” Vitt said. “It’s nice to know our family built something that became a part of people’s lives that they’ve loved.”
