The Cleveland Guardians, as fans should know by now, rebranded following the 2021 season.
Their new moniker was chosen to reflect the Hope Memorial Bridge outside of Progressive Field, including the statues that adorn the bridge — known as the “Guardians of Traffic.”
The rebrand, of course, included new uniforms and logos. A graphic designer, @emilymorgancreates on Instagram, recently took a stab at her own version.
Morgan put together a redesign of the Guards logo, shifting the “C” image to also encompass the “G” for Guardians, using those aforementioned Guardians of Traffic as inspiration.
The negative space in her redesign creates the new C shape, effectively representing Cleveland and Guardians in one logo.
Morgan broke down the logic behind her redesign in the post above.
A number of fans in the comment section said the team needs to adopt this logo redesign, so perhaps the Guardians will look to her if and when they look to freshen up their new logos.
