FREMONT – It was a hot and sunny day for Fremont’s Independence Day parade.
Hundreds attended the parade, which hit temperatures approaching 90 degrees, by the time the hour-long event finished.
Kids grabbed candy and posed for photos while enjoying the floats going by.
Many local politicians got into the Independence Day spirit, from both the Democratic and Republican Parties.
Benjamin Schuster, 6, and his siblings (Andrew, 3, and twins Evelyn and Cassandra) posed for their second parade. The Fremont Memorial Day parade was their first.
“I like looking at the police cars and hearing the bands,” Benjamin said.
The parade was longer than past parades, as it assembled in the Rodger Young Park and ended where Front Street met State Street.
