WITI-TV (Channel 6) weekend news anchor and reporter Aaron Maybin is leaving Milwaukee’s Fox affiliate after more than seven years for a job at a Miami station.
Maybin said in a July 3 Facebook post that he’s starting at WPLG-TV in Miami in late August. His last days on the air at Channel 6 are July 26-27.
“As an Oak Creek native, it’s been a dream come true to work in my hometown and share the stories of this amazing community,” Maybin wrote on Facebook. “I’m so grateful to my family, friends, and the viewers who have always had my back.”
Maybin, a Marquette University alum, joined Channel 6 in January 2018, after five years at WCSC-TV in Charleston, South Carolina. He also worked as an associate producer at WISN-TV (Channel 12) in Milwaukee in 2014-’15.
