Portion of South Whitewoman closing for 60 days
COSHOCTON − The City of Coshocton has announced that Whitewoman Street will be closed for 60 days starting Jan. 6 at the intersection of Spitler Drive. The closure is related to installation of Coshocton to Conesville waterlines under the Muskingum River. Spitler Drive will be accessible from Ohio 16 and all access to South Whitewoman Street will be via West Chestnut Street.
Christmas tree disposal at fairgrounds
COSHOCTON − Kimble’s is providing a bin for disposal of real Christmas trees through Jan. 9 in front of the agricultural building at the Coshocton County Fairgrounds. Trees must be clean with no lights, decorations or tree stands.
Health department requiring plumbing permits
COSHOCTON − The Coshocton Public Health District has announced plumbing permits are now required for any plumbing work in commercial buildings related to new construction, additions or if the plumbing is replaced in the building or a room of the building. A permit is not required for minor repairs or fixture replacement.
All commercial plumbing must be done by a licensed plumbing contractor who is registered with the health district. A commercial plumbing application must by accompanied by architectural plans. Inspections will be done by the Zanesville-Muskingum Plumbing Department. For more information, contact the health district at 740-622-1426.
EMS replacing radios
COSHOCTON − Coshocton County Emergency Medical Services has received a grant of $42,121 from the Coshocton Foundation to assist with the replacement of aging Multi-Agency Radio Communication System (MARCS) equipment. The agency also received funding from the Ohio EMS Grant System. The total project is estimated at $80,000 to replace 18 radios. Most of the existing radios are at least 14 years old and can’t be upgraded with new software.
Concert by Nobles postponed
COSHOCTON − Timothy and Hosanna Noble will have a piano and violin concert during 10:30 a.m. worship services at Jan. 11 at Prairie Chapel Methodist Church, 45494 County Road 23. This was rescheduled from previously announced.
Bus trip to Pennsylvania
COSHOCTON − Prairie Chapel Methodist Church is sponsoring a bus trip July 7-9, to Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The trip will includes performances of “Joshua” at the Sight and Sound Theater and “Mary Poppins” at the Dutch Apple Dinner Theater. Ag Day luncheon upcoming
COSHOCTON − The annual Ag Day Celebration Luncheon will be at 11:45 a.m. March 19, at Lake Park Pavilion, 23253 Ohio 83. Meal will be provided by Schumaker Farms. Cost is $10. Reserve by March 12 by calling 740-622-8087, ext. 4 or emailing kelseysaylor@coshoctoncounty.net.

● Virtual author talks are planned for David Brooks who will discus his book “How to Know a Person: The Art of Seeing Others Deeply” from 2 to 3 p.m. Jan. 13. Julia Hotz will talk about her book “The Connection Cure: The Prescriptive Power of Movement, Nature Art, Service and Belonging” from 2 to 3 p.m. Jan. 20. Liz Moore will discuss her book “The God of the Woods” from 7 to 8 p.m. Jan. 28.
● Dan and Becky Bowden of Winding Creek Farm will have a presentation on how to make maple syrup from start to finish from 10 to 11 a.m. Jan. 24. Maple syrup snacks will be provided.
● The history behind the music and lyrics of “The Star-Spangled Banner” will be the focus of a program from 5:45 to 6:30 p.m. Jan. 28. It’s part of America 250 programming.
● Common scams focused on Medicare beneficiaries and how to protect yourself will be discussed from 10 to 11 a.m. Jan. 29. Register in advance for all library programs at coshoctonlibrary.org/events.

● West Lafayette Village Council will meet in special session at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 5, in council chambers, 115 East Railroad St., West Lafayette. The purpose to approve a resolution authorizing the police chief and/or fiscal officer to apply to the Office of Criminal Justice Services for a violent crime reduction grant.
● Coshocton County Land Reutilization Corporation will meet at 1 p.m. Jan. 5, in the office of Coshocton County Commissioners, 401 Main St.
● Coshocton County Board of Development Disabilities will meet at 4:30 p.m. Jan. 7, at Hopewell School, 23720 Airport Road.
● Coshocton County Board of Revision will have an organizational meeting at 11 a.m. Jan. 12 at the Coshocton County Treasurer’s Office, 349 Main St.
