Delaware County residents with a massive sweet tooth will soon have a new place to pick up all their favorite treats – and maybe a few new favorites.
Grandpa Joe’s Candy Shop, a Pittsburg-based chain, is set to open a store in Downtown Delaware at 17 N. Sandusky St., according to a Facebook post.
The shop has not shared an opening date yet.
But once the doors are open, customers will find the store filled wall-to-wall with more than 250 types of candy bars and more than 100 varieties of bulk candies, according to the chain’s website. Plus, the store will carry 350 varieties of glass-bottled sodas, hand-crafted chocolates, popcorn, hand-scooped ice cream, milkshakes and floats.

“No matter what location you visit, we want you to feel like you’re part of our candy community, and in turn, we love being involved in each unique neighborhood we’re located in,” Grandpa Joe’s website says. “Our passionate and knowledgeable staff is comprised of candy experts/historians/lovers who are sure to lead you to your sweet spot.”
The Delaware location with join other Ohio shops in Mansfield, which opened in October, as well as Chillicothe, Cuyahoga Falls, Miamisburg, Middletown, Springfield and Troy. Grandpa Joe’s also has other locations in Pennsylvania, Texas, Florida, Minnesota and West Virginia.
