CANTON − Guided and ticketed art tours will be a “one-of-a-kind cultural experience” for downtown visitors, according to ArtsinStark and Visit Canton.
Both organizations are launching the Canton Art Walk in July.
“The tours will combine art, history, architecture and local storytelling,” a news release said.
Downtown Canton features dozens of public artworks, including nationally recognized installations, football-themed pieces and more than 20 murals.
Canton Art Walk tickets
Tickets for Canton Art Walk cost $20 and two tour options will be available, including the warehouse district. Participants can explore different sections of downtown “while discovering the artists, historical figures and community stories behind the artwork.”

Additional private and group tour options will also be offered.
How long are the tours?
Tours will last roughly 90 minutes and be at least 1.3 miles. Stops will include creative spaces and businesses, the press release said. Tours also involve walking up and down stairs and through historic corridors.
“Canton Art Walk is about more than art,” said Maureen Ater, president and CEO of ArtsinStark. “It’s about helping people connect with our community in a meaningful way. Every mural, sculpture and creative space tells a story about who we are as a city. Whether you’re a lifelong resident or visiting Canton for the first time, these tours offer a fresh perspective on the people, places and creativity that make downtown special.”
Canton’s creativity and history
The Canton Art Walk program is made possible through the Cultural Tourism Fund, a partnership between ArtsinStark, Visit Canton and Stark County commissioners.
Public art is part of downtown Canton’s tourism efforts, said Allyson Bussey, president and CEO of Visit Canton.
“Travelers today are looking for immersive experiences that connect them to a destination,” she said. “These guided tours showcase Canton’s creativity, history and sense of place while encouraging visitors to spend more time exploring our downtown.”
