Cincinnati Enquirer readers showed up to choose the next Student of the Week for the period ending May 1.
Each week, these ballots are posted at 7 a.m. on Mondays. Like the popular athlete of the week ballots, voters may cast a ballot once an hour until the 2 p.m. deadline on Fridays.
School representatives such as teachers, counselors, club advisers, communication staff and principals can nominate these high school students by 5 p.m. on Thursdays.
Here is this week’s winner.
Alyssa Hardwick, Colerain High School
Alyssa Hardwick, a student at Colerain High School, is an all-around exceptional person. Alyssa is the type of student who consistently aims for excellence. Her work is a reflection of her discipline and her genuine passion for learning.
What truly sets Alyssa apart, however, is the positive energy she brings to our community. Every day, she enters the classroom with a smile that sets a productive, welcoming tone for everyone.
She is a natural “quiet leader” who stays late or pauses her own work to ensure her peers understand the material. Her ability to explain complex concepts with patience and kindness has made her an invaluable asset to her classmates and a joy to teach.
