More than 90 people walked away millionaires (some multi-millionaires) after striking rich following Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing.
The April 29 drawing, which had a jackpot of $143 million and a cash option of $65.2 million, was claimed by two lucky winners in Indiana and Kansas. However, the shocker is how many people won big on the $1 million and $2 million Powerball prizes.

According to the Powerball website, there were 62 winners for the $1 milllion Match 5 prize (yes, you read that correctly) and 27 winners for the $2 milllion Match 5 prize.
It’s likely not a normal occurrence for this many people to win big, given the game’s odds of winning. Within the past year, only a handful of winners have claimed the Match 5 prizes, per the Powerball website.
The Enquirer has reached out to the Ohio Lottery and the Multi-State Lottery Association regarding the large number of winners and is awaiting a response.
