The Dover-New Philadelphia Kiwanis Club recently awarded 24 scholarships of $500 each to local students.
Twenty-two of the scholarships are from The Dover-New Philadelphia Kiwanis Club scholarship program, which was founded in 1979 by the late Rev. Jay Cooper. The late Ole Wessell, also a Kiwanian, left funds in trust, which the club uses for the scholarship program.
Two additional scholarships of $500 each are The Rancie Titley Memorial Scholarship. She was a longtime, active, and valued member of the club. Her husband, Bill, has provided funds for the scholarships in her memory.
