The Crew narrowly avoided their second loss of the regular season with a goal in stoppage time from defender Sean Zawadzki to tie the Philadelphia Union 2-2 on the road on May 10.
Philadelphia (7-3-2) led 2-1 for the final 26 minutes of regulation after defender Francis Westfield launched a long goal from the right of the Crew’s box.
In the third minute of stoppage time, Zawadzki found his second goal of the season off a corner kick, using one touch to score.
Philadelphia had momentum going into halftime with a goal from leading scorer Tai Baribo at the 45-minute mark, securing a 1-0 lead.
Crew midfielder Max Arfsten tied the game 1-1 in the 61st minute, but Westfield answered to take back the lead three minutes later.
The Crew are 7-1-4.

The Union got on the board in the final minute of first-half regulation with a goal from forward Tai Baribo off an assist from midfielder Quinn Sullivan.
With the play starting on the other side of the field with a pass from goalkeeper Andrew Rick, Sullivan eventually had the ball on the left side of Columbus’ box and found Baribo making a run toward the goal. Sullivan sent a cross to Baribo, who took just one touch to score.
