Jose Ramirez is back.
On Wednesday, July 22, the Guardians announced they activated Ramirez, their best player and a seven-time All-Star third baseman, from the 10-day injured list. The Guardians also optioned outfielder Khalil Watson to the Triple-A Columbus Clippers.

Ramirez is slated to bat second for the Guardians on July 22 against the Minnesota Twins at Progressive Field. First pitch is scheduled for 6:40 p.m.
The 33-year-old Ramirez had been on the injured list after suffering a left hamate fracture on June 13 and undergoing surgery on June 16. He did not have a minor-league rehab assignment.

The Guardians went 15-15 without Ramirez. They entered July 22 with a record of 54-48 and tied with the Chicago White Sox atop the American League Central Division standings.

Before Ramirez’s injury, he logged 72 games this season with a .239 batting average and a .757 OPS. He had 33 RBIs, 10 home runs, 18 doubles and 24 stolen bases.
