Clearcreek Township fire leaves one dead, two injured

CLEARCREEK TOWNSHIP — A fire in Clearcreek Township that killed one person is under investigation by the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office.

According to a release from the sheriff’s office, deputies and the Clearcreek Township Fire Department were called to a residence in the 10000 block of Dozer Road at approximately 11:06 a.m. Feb. 9 after a 911 call reported a structure fire.

When emergency crews arrived, they found three people inside the home. A male and female occupant were injured and taken to area hospitals for treatment. Another female occupant was found dead inside the residence.

The ages of those injured and killed have not been released.

The Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Bureau and the Ohio State Fire Marshal’s Office are jointly investigating the cause and origin of the fire.
