WCPO reporter leaving after 12 years on air. 'Thank you for the love'

A WCPO-TV (Channel 9) reporter is leaving after more than a decade on air.

Ally Kraemer, an early-morning multimedia journalist for WPCO, is leaving after 12 years, she said in a social media post, announcing that Tuesday, May19 was her final day.

Kraemer, a Cincinnati native who started at the local station in September 2014, recalled being “giddy” when she got the job offer. Since then, she’s gotten married, had four babies and “launched a life I could only dream of,” but the early mornings had begun to “take a toll.”

“I hope I shared important stories that made an impact. I loved reporting, I really loved breaking news, I loved the talented people I got to work with,” she wrote on Facebook. “But that love started to fade this year. The early mornings started to take a toll on me. My passions and priorities changed.”

Kraemer said she is taking time to be with her daughters before sharing what’s next.

“Thank you for the love and support over the years. Your messages got me through some of the hardest days,” she wrote.

Kraemer graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism, according to her LinkedIn profile. Before joining WCPO in 2014, she served as a reporter at WFIE-TV (Channel 14) in Evansville, Indiana, and interned at WCMH-TV (Channel 4) in Columbus.
