Big Brothers Big Sisters to sponsor Grapes for Kids’ Sake on Sept. 27 | The Scene

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Summit, Medina and Stark Counties’ Grapes for Kids’ Sake: The fundraiser will be 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 27 at St. George Antiochian Church Family Center, 3204 Ridgewood Road, Copley. Wine tasting, dinner, auction and program on the local agency’s impact since 1972. The theme is “Friendships That Last a Lifetime.” Konnor Hummell will be honored as Big Brother of the Year and Linda Gailliez will be recognized as Big Sister of the Year. 200th Anniversary of the First Congregational Church in Tallmadge: The Tallmadge Historical Society and the City of Tallmadge will celebrate from 1-4 p.m. Sept. 28 on Tallmadge Circle. The Event will begin in the Historic Church with music provided by ‘Grace Notes’. The Historical Society will offer ‘Nooks and Cranny Tours of the Church from 2-4 p.m. Music will be provided by ‘Justin Other Band’. Old Town Hall and Museum will be open and refreshments will be served. Tallmadge Police will be available to help cross the Circle.

Medina County Historical Society Gingerbread House Contest: The competition will be judged in three categories: Children 8 or younger, youths 9 to 17 and adults 18 or older.
