Michigan State football has traveled to the west coast to take on No. 25 USC in a late night battle of 3-0 teams. While USC played their first Big Ten game a week ago against Purdue, this is the first Big Ten game of the 2025 season for Michigan State, and comes as a major test for the Spartans.
Unfortunately, while it was a seven point game heading into the fourth quarter, Michigan State did not do enough to get themselves in the game late, falling to USC.

Spartans get the game to one score in the fourth quarter, but can’t do enough defensively to make it a game late. Trojans move to 4-0, while the Spartans fall to 3-1.

Well, this game might be pretty close to over, but the Spartans offense kept fighting. Chiles hits Omari Kelly on a huge 75-yard touchdown.

A quick four and out for the Spartans gives the Trojans the ball back and they capitalize. This is back to a three score game with three minutes to go.

An absolute dagger of the drive, resulting in a touchdown and more than 8 minutes off of the clock. MSU had chances to get off of the field, missing a dead to rights sack on third and long and giving up a fourth down. Offense needs to respond or this one will be on life support.

Michigan State was down by as many as 21, but the Spartans will not quit, or go away, and have made this a one score game heading into the fourth quarter. 3rd and about four coming up for the Trojans to start the quarter.

In 37 seconds, Michigan State moved the ball in range to try a 56-yard field goal, but the try missed wide left. The Spartans will get the ball coming out of the half.

A long 88 play drive ends in a touchdown for USC. A scary scene unfolded on the field, with Wayne Matthews going down with what seemed to be a very scary injury.
