The Cincinnati Bengals will face the Washington Commanders in their second preseason game August 18, on ESPN’s Monday Night Football.
ESPN announced that its broadcast crew for the game at Northwest Stadium is scheduled to be its usual personnel for a Monday night game, meaning Joe Buck doing play-by-play, Troy Aikman as color analyst and Lisa Salters and Laura Rutledge as sideline reporters.
The game, scheduled to kick off at 8 p.m. Eastern, also is scheduled to be broadcast on the Bengals Radio Network.
In December 2024, Buck and Aikman agreed that officials missed an obvious penalty when the Dallas Cowboys’ Marist Liufau grabbed Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow’s facemask during the fourth quarter of Cincinnati’s NFL Week 14 win at AT&T Stadium on Monday Night Football.
The Bengals and Commanders met on Monday night during the 2024 regular season. Buck said it was a must-win game for Cincinnati after an 0-2 start. Washington won 38-33.
During the Saints-Chiefs Monday Night Football game in 2024, Buck trolled the Bengals and punter Ryan Rehkow’s errant hold in a loss against Baltimore.
Buck and Aikman also called the Bengals’ overtime win against the Jacksonville Jaguars in December 2023.
