The 2025-26 school year officially kicked off in Alachua and the surrounding counties on Monday. With that, it means the athletic season is here.
Preseason volleyball games began Tuesday, and kickoff classics for football commence Thursday — with Week 1 a week later.
To celebrate the start of another sports year, The Gainesville Sun wanted to honor the best of the best in 2025.
We released our top 25 athletes we’ll be watching in 2025, but now, it’s your turn to choose which athlete, above all, that you are most looking forward to watching.
All 25 athletes selected will be up for a vote. Like with all other Gainesville Sun polls, you can vote as many times as you’d like. Polls close at 11:59 p.m. Sunday. Please share this poll with friends, families, acquittances, enemies, whoever!
