When crews responded to the report of “heavy black smoke” in the area they discovered a home ablaze.

A second home next door also had caught fire.

No one was at home at either home at the time of the fire.

One firefighter suffered a minor injury and was treated by paramedics at the scene.

The fire remains under investigation.

The Red Cross is assisting one adult and seven children in one of the home’s and the sole occupant of the second home.
