The 2026 high school baseball season is underway and it’s time to look at some of the top players in Stark County.
The group includes a couple of Ohio State recruits, one of which already has caught the eyes of Major League Baseball scouts.
Last year’s Division VI state runner-up, Lake Center Christian, is strongly represented on this list. The Tigers have the look of a team that could play deep into June this season.

Stark County-area high school baseball players to watch
Anderson Alacchi, Lake, jr.
Power-hitting catcher hit five home runs last year with four doubles and 22 RBIs. Batted .293. Already has a five-RBI game this season with a single, double and grand slam.
Jack Andes, North Canton Hoover, sr.
Bowling Green recruit is a two-time Repository All-Stark County first teamer and a 2025 first-team All-Ohioan as a leadoff hitter, center fielder and relief pitcher. Outstanding overall athlete who was the Repository Stark County Football Player of the Year in the fall. Stole a county-high 43 bases last year. Already has a six-steal game this season. Batted .323 with 25 runs. Went 2-0 with five saves and a 0.27 ERA.
Nathan Bryant, Lake Center Christian, sr.
Ohio State signee is an impact two-way guy who has helped Tigers to three straight league and district championships as a starting pitcher and third baseman. Batted .416 with nine doubles, three home runs, 28 RBIs and 34 runs last year in earning first-team All-Ohio. A 6-foot-4 right-hander, went 6-3 with a 3.55 ERA and 78 strikeouts in 43.1 innings in helping Lake Center to a state runner-up finish.
Grant Coblentz, Lake Center Christian, jr.
Leadoff hitter and outfielder for Division VI state runner-up. Batted an area-best .483 and tied for lead in runs with 44 in earning first-team All-Ohio. Added six doubles, three triples, 21 RBIs and 30 stolen bases. Likely will make a big impact on the mound this season as well after an injury problem limited him last year.
Bo Davis, Alliance, sr.
Youngstown State commit is experienced team leader at catcher, who helped lead Alliance to 20 wins last year. Batted .366 with six doubles and a triple. Drove in 23 runs and scored 20 while drawing 19 walks.
Ty DeGeorge, Lake, jr.
Athletic outfielder finished second in batting in the Federal League last year at .419. Scored 26 runs and drove in 18. Stole 10 bases.
DiAngelo Fisk, Alliance, sr.
Infielder and right-handed pitcher. Went 5-3 with two saves and a 1.13 ERA last year. Batted .301 with three doubles, 15 RBIs and 27 runs as he helped Alliance to 20 wins.
Evan Fuller, North Canton Hoover, sr.
Youngstown State commit is a terrific arm on a Hoover pitching staff full of them. The 6-6 right-hander went 3-4 last year with a 2.18 ERA in 46 strikeouts in 35.1 innings. Picked up his first win of this season last week in a 13-strikeout, one-hit performance over six innings.
Luke Heckert, Lake Center Christian, sr.
Arizona Western College commit is another impact player for 2025 state runner-up Lake Center as an outfielder and pitcher. Batted .378 with 14 extra-base hits (three HRs) and 32 RBIs. Tied for lead in area in runs with 44 last year and was third in stolen bases with 31. Also went 4-0 on the mound with a 2.49 ERA and 31 strikeouts in 19.2 innings.
Kyle Moff, GlenOak, sr.
Veteran player with a lot of versatility. Batted .372 with 19 runs and 16 RBIs last season for 25-win GlenOak. Stole nine bases. Will be counted on for leadership on young Golden Eagles this season.
Brayden Myers, Lake Center Christian, sr.
Emerged as the Tigers’ No. 1 pitcher last year in helping them to a state runner-up finish in Division VI. Led the area in wins, going 12-1 with a 1.42 ERA. Struck out 103 in 69 innings in earning second-eam All-Ohio. Malone University recruit also is an infielder who drove in 20 runs, scored 32 runs and drew 23 walks.
Kenyon Oakes, Jackson, sr.
University of Akron recruit led Jackson in batting (.396), runs (33) and steals (22) last season. The center fielder totaled five doubles, three triples and three home runs while committing no errors. Helped Jackson to 27-4 record, an outright Federal League championship and a regional appearance.
Caleb Shelly, Lake Center Christian, jr.
Put together one of the best all-around seasons in Stark County baseball last year as a shortstop and pitcher. Finished top three in area in batting (second, .457), RBIs (first, 39) and runs (third, 39). Totaled 14 doubles, four triples and two home runs. Went 6-0 with two saves and a 0.81 ERA as he earned second-team All-Ohio for the Division VI state runners-up.
Luke Spittler, Canton Central Catholic, sr.
Power-hitting third baseman is a Tallahassee State commit. Was top 10 in the area in batting (third, .447), home runs (tied for first, five), RBIs (seventh, 24) and runs (tied for sixth, 33) last season. Added 12 doubles and five triples for Central team that went 21-7 and advanced to a regional final.
Landon Thiel, Jackson, sr.
Ohio State signee is one of the state’s top-ranked players and already is catching the eyes of Major League Baseball scouts. Went 6-1 with a save, a 1.17 ERA and 86 strikeouts in 47.2 innings last season. The 6-7 lefty and two-time Repository All-Stark County first teamer entered this season 18-3 in his varsity career.
