Will Kenyon Sadiq or Mason Taylor lead Jets TE's in snaps this season?

The New York Jets have invested significant resources into the tight end position in recent offseasons.

General manager Darren Mougey spent the 16th overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft on Kenyon Sadiq. The decision came one year after using a second-round pick on Mason Taylor.

New offensive coordinator Frank Reich inherits a tight end room that also has veteran Jeremy Ruckert in it. Reich must navigate how to utilize his three tight ends. It’s a terrific problem to have with varying possibilities.

The Jets weren’t much of a 12 personnel offense (two tight ends) last season. They ranked 22nd in the NFL in 12 personnel usage, according to Sumer Sports. The Jets had two tight ends on the field for just 17.03% of their offensive plays.

Coach Reich figures to increase that number dramatically this coming campaign. Firstly, multi tight end sets have become trendy around the NFL. Secondly, the Jets have invested resources in assets like Taylor and Sadiq, so they might as well use them. Ruckert is also a plus-level blocker.

Taylor led all Jets tight ends in snaps as a rookie with 654. Given the size of the first-round investment made in Sadiq, it’s probably safe to assume the former Oregon standout will hold that title this season. The possibilities are endless for Coach Reich though, with Taylor, Sadiq, and Ruckert all at his fingertips.
