Lux Lounge in Rochester’s South Wedge neighborhood is temporarily closed after a fire broke out in a second-floor office early Monday morning.
The bar, located at 666 South Ave., will remain closed until further notice, according to owners.
Firefighters respond around 5 a.m.
Firefighters were called to the scene just before 5 a.m. and found flames coming from the building’s second floor. Crews brought the fire under control in about 20 minutes, according to the Rochester Fire Department.
The bulk of the fire damaged the second-floor of the building, said Lt. Howard Villegas of the Rochester Fire Department.
No injuries reported
No one was inside the building when the fire started, and no injuries were reported.
Bar cat rescued from blaze
The bar’s cat, Woody, was rescued from the fire and survived, owners said.
Cause under investigation
Firefighters are continuing to investigate the cause of the blaze. Further details were not released.
