Who's on my ballot in Rochester? Election 2025 candidates

This year, Rochester residents will cast their ballots for nine city positions, including mayor, city councilmembers and school commissioners. City residents will also vote for their pick for two state Supreme Court judgeships and a Family Court judge.

Below is a list of candidates Rochester residents will find on their ballot, along with links to previous coverage that gives a detailed look at each candidate and race.

Election 2025: Early voting starts Oct. 25 in NY. What Rochester-area voters need to know

Early voting is available to all voters in Monroe County from Saturday, Oct. 25 through Sunday, Nov. 2. Polls are open for regular voting between 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 4.

You can look up where you can vote on Election Day at voterlookup.elections.ny.gov. Check back with the Democrat and Chronicle for the full election results as they become available.

Rochester Mayor

Malik D. Evans, D (incumbent)

Louis Sabo, C

Evans is favored to win his second term as mayor due to city voting patterns of the past. Evans’ priorities are centered around redevelopment and public safety. His challenger, Sabo, is a political newcomer running on a platform of public safety, housing affordability and education. Read more about each candidate at the D&C.

Mitch Gruber, D (incumbent)

Lashunda C. Leslie-Smith, D

Stanley Martin, D, WF (incumbent)

Miguel A. Melendez Jr., D (incumbent)

Marcus C Williams, C

Rochester has a bloated city council race with nine candidates for five at-large seats. Three incumbents are hoping for another term. But whatever happens Nov. 4, there will be fresh faces on the council, with two incumbents not seeking re-election. Learn more about your city council candidates here.

Heather Feinman, D

Kareem McCullough, D, WF

Camille A. Simmons, D, WF (incumbent)

All three candidates will earn a seat on the Rochester city school board after beating out a fourth competitor in the June primary.
