Temperatures aren’t exactly screaming spring is here for the next few days. Nighttime lows could feel more like winter, particularly Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.
But the Lower Hudson Valley forecast indicates somewhat of a weekend warm-up coming.
Tuesday, April 7, is predicted to have a high temperature of 51 degrees, with a 6-to-11 mph northwest wind that increases to 18 to 23 mph in the afternoon, the National Weather Service said. Gusts of up to 34 mph are possible.
A mostly-clear Tuesday night will have a low around 28 degrees — but wind chill values in the 20s are possible, the weather service said. It’s predicted to be blustery, with a 13-to-21 mph northwest wind. (Note that in some areas that are near Westchester-Rockland-Putnam counties, the weather service issued a freeze watch for Tuesday night into Wednesday morning).
A sunny Wednesday will have a high near 48 degrees.
A mostly clear Wednesday night’s low temperature is expected to be in the 30s.
A mostly sunny Thursday is predicted to have a high around 53 degrees. Thursday night is expected to be partly cloudy, with a low around 37 degrees.
Looking ahead
Sunny Friday’s daytime high is predicted to push up to 64 degrees, with Friday night’s low temperature around 46 degrees.
Saturday is expected to be mostly sunny, with a high near 67 degrees. A mostly clear Saturday night’s low could be around 42 degrees.
A night temperature near 63 degrees is predicted Sunday, with a mostly cloudy Sunday night having a low around 47 degrees.
It’s a bit far away to be certain yet, but the forecast for Monday currently is for partly sunny and a high near 73 degrees.
