The New York Giants have finalized a contract agreement with second-round draft pick Colton Hood, the cornerback selected 37th overall in the 2026 NFL draft out of Tennessee.

Hood, who played one season apiece at Auburn, Colorado and Tennessee, appeared in 29 college games. He posted 77 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, three interceptions, and 14 passes defensed. His strongest campaign came in 2024 at Colorado, where he led the Big 12 with two interceptions for 105 yards.

The 6-foot defensive back stood out during the Giants’ recent rookie minicamp, highlighted by a standout interception that would have been returned for a touchdown in the two-minute drill. Head coach John Harbaugh lauded Hood’s work in press coverage and overall diligence, stating he looked “really good” and made several plays.

With the deal now finalized, Hood is expected to challenge immediately for a starting spot in the secondary.

The Official signing is anticipated on Tuesday or in the coming days.
