Vote for the Poughkeepsie Journal football player of the week for Sept. 18-20

The Poughkeepsie Journal football player of the week poll is online for Sept. 18-20.

Information was utilized on reports gathered by Varsity 845. Coaches are encouraged to provide their game reports in order for athletes to be chosen; they may also nominate one player from their team by Sunday afternoon.

Winners of each weekly contest will be ineligible for the ensuing two weeks: Said Kakish of F.D. Roosevelt and Connor Drnek of Dover

Last week, Drnek beat Jacob Weickel of Ketcham and Caden McRee-Salazar of John Jay.

Dutchess County football player of the week

Jacob Brandeburg, Spackenkill

He rushed for 152 yards and three scores, adding eight tackles as the Spartans nipped Monticello 30-24 in overtime on Sept. 18.

Nate Clum, Red Hook

He was 13-for-15 for 291 yards and three scores, adding five carries, 80 yards and a 17-yard TD run as the Raiders blanked New Paltz 37-0 on Sept. 19.

Cooper Corless, Haldane

He was 8-for-15 for 127 yards and one TD throw, adding 17 carries for 106 yards and one score as the Blue Devils blanked Hastings 34-0 on Sept. 20.

Tazjir Gary, Poughkeepsie

He scored a touchdown as the Pioneers bowed to Tappan Zee 22-6 on Sept. 19.

Logan Lawrence, John Jay

He was 10-for-18 for 135 yards and one TD throw as the Patriots downed Scarsdale 21-13 on Sept. 19.

Delano Rigby, Beacon

He was 8-for-16 for 112 yards and one TD as the Bulldogs bowed to Kingston 23-13 on Sept. 19.
