Vestal senior Tedessa DiRenzo has been voted Guthrie Athlete of the Week for high school events of Feb. 1-7, 2026.
DiRenzo received nearly 85% of the votes submitted among seven nominees.

DiRenzo netted 27 points to help the Golden Bears down Elmira, 59-38, in girls basketball. She added 12 points in a loss to Maine-Endwell.
Nominees for Guthrie Athlete of the Week are from the coverage areas of the Binghamton Press & Sun-Bulletin, Elmira Star-Gazette, Ithaca Journal and Corning Leader.

Samantha Bonnell, Horseheads girls basketball: Bonnell hit six 3-pointers and scored a career-high 31 points in a win over Corning. Earlier in the week, she had 23 points and eight assists in a victory over Binghamton.
Julian Colon, Elmira boys basketball: Colon had 14 points in a loss to Union-Endicott, hit the winning shot in the closing seconds in a win over Vestal, then scored 19 points in a victory over Ithaca.
Kalysta DeMark, Elmira Notre Dame girls basketball: DeMark scored 27 points to help the Crusaders to a win over Dryden.
Allan Eagles, Seton Catholic Central boys basketball: He scored 34 points in a victory over Chenango Valley after scoring 17 in a victory against Windsor.
Jude Santos, Watkins Glen boys basketball: Santos had 30 points and seven rebounds in a victory over Dryden, followed by 14 points and seven rebounds in a win against Whitney Point.
Landyn Shaffer, Deposit/Hancock wrestling: Shaffer was named Most Outstanding Wrestler in the Section 4 Division 2 qualifier A after taking the 138-pound title.
