The Buffalo Bills (2-0) began the 2025 NFL season with a huge win over the Baltimore Ravens as the Bills are looking to finally break through to get to the Super Bowl. Buffalo came into Sunday’s game at the New York Jets (0-2) with the intent of starting off their AFC East schedule with a victory and the Bills made sure to take care of business.
The Bills beat the Jets on Sunday 30-10 thanks to how well quarterback Josh Allen and company played on both sides of the ball in what proved to be a dominant outing. Allen and running back James Cook did their jobs by lifting the offense to amassing 403 total yards while Buffalo’s defense locked down New York’s offense throughout the game.
The Bills’ defense got some leeway when Jets quarterback Justin Fields left the game to be evaluated for a concussion, but even with Tyrod Taylor playing well, Buffalo still got the job done by limiting big plays and third-down conversions. There’s plenty for the Bills to be positive about following Sunday’s win over the Jets so here is the stock report:
Stock Up: RB James Cook
Cook was one of the brightest stars for the Bills in this one as he racked up 132 yards on 21 rushing attempts and he even found the endzone twice as Buffalo’s offense was rolling. The Jets struggled on both sides of the ball against the Bills, but Cook was the catalyst for why everything fell into place. Cook did not contribute much in the passing game, but when he’s running the ball like he was on Sunday, he doesn’t have to worry about catching it.
Stock Down: WR Khalil Shakir
Shakir is part of a wide receiver group that Josh Allen will need to make plays when the time comes, especially with the Bills trying to get to the Super Bowl for the chance to win it all. Shakir has the talent to be the best receiver of the bunch, but when he’s catching 1-of-2 targets for 12 yards, Bills fans have to wonder if this will be his worst outing of the season.
Stock Up: S Cole Bishop
Bishop was part of a Bills defensive unit that was dominant against a Jets offense led by Justin Fields and the explosive Garrett Wilson. Not only did Bishop put up five tackles (4 solo), one sack, and one tackle for a loss, he also was instrument to Buffalo limiting the Jets to just 154 total yards and 3.3 yards per play, showing the disparity between both teams in real-time.
Stock Down: DE AJ Epenesa
Epenesa came into the 2025 season with the expectation of taking the next step as part of a Buffalo defensive unit that has to apply pressure on the opposing quarterback in order to achieve success. For someone like Epenesa to come out of this game with just one quarterback hit, Buffalo has to be expecting more from the talented edge-rusher.
Stock Up: QB Josh Allen
It’s hard to talk about the Bills winning a game in a blowout fashion without discussing quarterback Josh Allen given that he is one of the best players in the league at this point. Allen had one of his quieter games on Sunday, but he still completed 14-of-25 passes for 148 yards while carrying the ball six times for 59 yards, including a 40-yard run to show how dangerous he is running the ball as well.
Stock Up: WR Josh Palmer
Palmer came into training camp essentially slotted to be the third wide receiver behind Keon Coleman and Khalil Shakir within the starting receiving corps. While Allen did not have the most prolific passing game, Palmer impressed with his ability to make plays against New York’s secondary, catching 2-of-3 targets for 47 yards to lead the pass-catching unit.
