A Saugerties teenager was arrested by the Saugerties Police Department and charged with second-degree murder, with likely other charges.
Police received a report around 1 p.m. June 7 of a “possible homicide” in the hamlet of West Camp. A woman, whose name was not given due to the ongoing investigation, was killed.
A 15-year-old boy, whom police did not name, was processed and arraigned in the Youth Part of the Superior Court in the Town of Saugerties Justice Court. He has been remanded without bail, and a future appearance is pending in Ulster County Youth Part Court.
SPD were assisted in an investigation by the Ulster County Child Advocacy Center, the New York State Police and the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office, leading to the arrest.
