A pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries when struck by a vehicle on Lake Avenue in Rochester over the weekend, according to police.
The crash occurred on the 800 block of Lake Avenue, near Driving Park Avenue, just after 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, according to the Rochester Police Department. A 47-year-old Rochester man was struck by a northbound Jeep as the man stood on the sidewalk, officers said.
The driver of the Jeep swerved onto the sidewalk to avoid a collision with another vehicle and struck the pedestrian as well as a nearby building, according to police. The pedestrian was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment.
“At this time there is no evidence of any criminality,” the department said in a news release.
