The Cincinnati Bengals are looking for depth at the defensive tackle position and are hoping a recently signed former first-round pick can come in and provide a spark on the interior.
Among those looking to provide competition in the trenches is Taven Bryan, the No. 29 overall pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2018 NFL Draft. Bryan spent four seasons with the Jaguars before moving to Cleveland in 2022. He played the last two seasons with the Indianapolis Colts. Bryan signed with the Bengals on July 20.
Bryan has played in 110 games over his seven-year career, racking up 151 tackles, 11.5 sacks and 24 tackles for a loss. He’s a player the Bengals seem very intrigued with.

In addition, the Bengals are also looking at McTelvin Agim, a 2020 third-round pick by the Denver Broncos. Agim has bounced around, spending time with the Colts, Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans. He also signed on July 20.
Bengals director of player personnel Duke Tobin spoke on the two and is very interested in what they can bring in camp.
“Those two are guys we have some regard for,” said Tobin. “They have some traits. Hopefully they’ll be able to come in, find a role and show they belong”.
The Bengals are set at the top with B.J, Hill and T.J. Slaton. Behind them is up for grabs. Kris Jenkins and McKinnley Jackson, a couple of 2024 draft picks, are in the mix as are undrafted rookies Howard Cross III and Eric Gregory. Preseason is a big opportunity for everyone, including the former first-round pick in Bryan. The Bengals open the preseason August 7 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
