NEW YORK — The Brooklyn Nets are less than one away from seeing what their rookies from the 2026 NBA Draft and second-year players from the 2025 draft will look like against NBA competition. Brooklyn is hoping for plenty of production from players like Mikel Brown Jr. and Joshua Jefferson, but they have finalized the roster that they will be putting forth in both summer leagues.
The Nets announced the roster for the California Classic and the Las Vegas Summer League on Monday and it should be no surprise as to who will be seeing playing time over the summer. Brown, the No. 6 overall pick in the 2026 draft, and Tyler Bilodeau, the No. 44 pick in the same draft, will be playing, but Jefferson will not be taking part in the California Class at the very least.
The reason that Jefferson will not be playing in the Classic is because the trade that brought him and Julius Randle has not been officially finalized so the Iowa State forward cannot take the floor as of now. However, once the trade that brought Randle and Jefferson to Brooklyn and sent center Nic Claxton to the Chicago Bulls is official, Jefferson will be on the floor.
Moving on, the Nets will have four of the five rookies from the 2025 draft (Egor Demin, Drake Powell, Ben Saraf, and Danny Wolf) on the floor for their second summer league so that the fan can see how much they have improved. Guard Nolan Traore will be playing in either of the summer leagues because he recently had a scope on his right knee, per general manager Sean Marks on Monday, so he will be recovering from that operation.
The rest of the roster is as follows: center Duke Brennan, guard Dion Brown, forward Ben Humrichous, forward Chaney Johnson, guard Dwight Murray Jr., forward Grant Nelson, guard Hunter Sallis, forward Aaron Scott, and forward John Ukomadu. The Nets will be playing the California Classic from July 4-6 and will be playing in the Las Vegas Summer League from July 9-19.
