The Section 9 girls team headed to the state meet will be Bentley, Lorelei Mariani and Avery Greher of Cornwall; Madelyn Cavello and Annabella Caycho of Monticello; Ava Fanos and Emma Fontaine of Warwick; and, Madeline Pantel of Fallsburg/Tri-Valley.

The determination of the state teams came from a formula counting the sectional meet results (75%) with regular-season points (25%).

Each of the skiers took two runs of slalom and two runs of giant slalom, with the best time of each discipline being added together to determine standings.

Rein posted a total of 66.57 seconds, with a 33.46 second run in slalom and 33.11 first run in giant slalom. Danilo was next at 69.18, Gottlieb third at 69.64, Haffner fourth at 70.40 and Francisco at 70.48. Forty boys posted combined times.

Monticello’s Rein, Francisco and Bastone combined for a time of 213.15 seconds, nipping Goshen’s Gottlieb, Jacob Kossar and Tanner Horn by nearly five seconds (218.03).

Bentley posted a total of 71.90 seconds, with a 35.71 first run in slalom and 36.19 first run in giant slalom. Cavello was next at 74.36, Fanos was third at 76.40, Fontaine fourth at 77.12 and Caycho fifth at 77.75. Thirty-eight girls posted the required combined times.

Cornwall’s Bentley, Mariani and Greher combined for a time of 233.88 seconds, nipping Warwick’s Fanos, Fontaine and Nyah Knieriemen by 0.53 seconds.
