For the final time in 2025-26, Section V has announced its scholarship winners.
The section selected nine winners, one for each spring sport, with each recipient receiving a $500 scholarship to support future academic pursuits. There were about 40 applicants for the spring award.
For consideration, Section V requires a letter of recommendation from the student-athlete’s coach, a high school transcript and a list of activities participated in.
Here are the recipients for spring 2026:
Baseball: Miguel Gonzalez, Wheatland-Chili
Softball: Calla McCombs, Bloomfield
Boys lacrosse: Braden Fingar, Penn Yan
Girls lacrosse: Marin Jaeger, Irondequoit
Boys track and field: Ibrahim Ford, Arkport
Girls track and field: Isabella Mesiti, Brockport
Flag football: Sydney Howard, Wayne
Boys golf: Aiden Hoy, Pittsford Sutherland
Boys tennis: Perry Francis, East Rochester
