The Metro-North Railroad will implement weekend service changes on the Hudson Line beginning July 25 as crews perform scheduled track work between Beacon and Poughkeepsie.
The modified schedule will remain in effect through Sunday, Sept. 13, apart from Labor Day, as part of ongoing infrastructure improvements along the line.
Poughkeepsie and New Hamburg trains will run less frequently
During the track work period, during the weekend trains traveling to and from New Hamburg and Poughkeepsie will operate on a modified schedule, with service running approximately every two hours, according to a news release from the MTA.
Additionally, several weekend trains that typically begin and end their routes at Poughkeepsie will instead begin and end service at Beacon.
Metro-North said hourly weekend service between Grand Central Terminal and Beacon will continue throughout the construction period.
The planned service changes will not be in place on Monday, Sept. 7, when Metro-North will operate under its regular holiday schedule for Labor Day.
Riders encouraged to check schedules before traveling
Metro-North is encouraging Hudson Line riders to plan weekend trips ahead of time and check for schedule updates before traveling.
Passengers can use the TrainTime app to plan trips, purchase tickets, view train status and receive service updates. Riders can also find real-time information through the MTA website, sign up for email alerts, or call 511 for assistance.
The MTA encouraged riders to continue checking for updates throughout the track work period, as schedules may change based on ongoing construction needs.
