The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man recovered earlier this week from the Erie Canal near Great Embankment Park in Pittsford.
Alan Rulison, 72, of Rochester, was found deceased on the evening of Sept. 17, according to an update issued Friday by the sheriff’s office. Authorities say there are no indications of foul play and no threat to public safety.
The cause of death remains under investigation by the Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office.
