The Buffalo Bills have a surprise player missing their spring practices in Orchard Park this week.
Head coach Sean McDermott revealed to reporters on Tuesday that pass rusher Joey Bosa will not practice at OTAs because of an injury. Per McDermott, Bosa is dealing with a calf strain that he sustained last week.
“Joey was off to a good start, so it’s unfortunate to see him go down, but that offers someone else an opportunity to step up,” Bosa said.
Bosa, 29, signed a one-year deal worth $12.6 million in Buffalo this offseason.
Injuries have hampered Bosa in recent seasons. However, McDermott did add that Bosa is expected to return by training camp. In between OTAs and training camp the Bills will have mandatory minicamp but Bosa will sit those out.
Along with Bosa, running back James Cook was not working out at OTAs due to his ongoing contract discussions with the team.
Bills Wire will continue to provide updates throughout the 2025 offseason.
