How much are Bills spending on defense in 2026 compared to rest of NFL?

The Buffalo Bills invested a decent amount on the defensive side of the ball during the 2026 offseason and for good reason.

At the 2026 NFL Draft, six of the team’s 10 selections were defensive players compared to three on offense (one punter). The biggest fish that headed to Buffalo via free agency was edge defender Bradley Chubb as well.

That all ties to the change in the scheme the Bills will run on that side of the ball under new coordinator Jim Leonhard.

But in the end, Buffalo’s spending on their defense has been kept relatively low compared to the rest of the NFL according to Sharp Football.

Overall, the Bills spent the fourth-least among the 32 NFL teams on defensive players ahead of the 2026 season.
