Applications have opened for a new Johnson City housing complex that will be officially opening its doors late this fall.
Homesteads on Grand, located at 333 Grand Ave. in Johnson City, will add a total of 72 apartments to the area’s housing stock. The development, planned by Regan Development Corporation, was first announced in 2023.
The “workforce housing” development consists of 27 one-bedroom, 41 two-bedroom and four three-bedroom apartments priced below market-rate for people who qualify based on income guidelines, according to a press release.
The complex’s apartments will be priced between $772-$991 for one-bedroom units, $531-$1,282 for two-bedroom and $1,309 for three-bedroom.
Each apartment will include brand new ranges and refrigerators in the kitchen, pre-wiring for cable television connection, and free internet for residents. Complex residents will also have access to a range of amenities including parking, a community room, recreation space for children and on-site laundry access.
“We are proud to bring these superior quality affordable apartments to the workforce here in Johnson City and Broome County,” said developer Larry Regan of Regan Development Corporation. “The apartments are beautiful and new, with ample storage space and amenities. We know that our market demands high quality and value, and that is what the project delivers.”
Residents will have access to an on-site property manager for any concerns, as well as an on-site building superintendent. Regan Development Corporation is partnering with Binghamton-based SEPP, Inc. to manage the property.
Applications for apartments are open as of June 26, and will be accepted until Aug. 25, with a lottery held on Sept. 9. To apply, call 607-723-8989.
“We urge interested persons and their families to act quickly, as this project will soon have a long waiting list,” said Regan.
