Looking for fireworks shows, parades and other celebrations in the area to celebrate Independence Day?
A variety of municipalities and organizations will be hosting fireworks shows throughout the weekend to celebrate the Fourth of July with many also offering live music, parades and other activities.
Check out these options in the Stevens Point area.
Iola
The Iola-Scandinavia Chamber will host its annual Independence Day Fireworks Display July 3 at Taylor Field, 450 Water St. in Iola. Festivities include baseball games starting at 5 p.m., including the Battle For The Axe between Iola and Scandinavia fire departments, as well as food and beverage stands. Fireworks will start at dusk.
Rosholt
Rosholt will host its Independence Day Fireworks Display starting at dusk July 5 at the Rosholt Fair Park, 186 W. Forest St. in Rosholt. Black Label Trio will perform from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., taking a break during the fireworks show.
Stevens Point
Riverfront Rendezvous will run July 3-5 at Pfiffner Pioneer Park, including three days of live music, a market, a children’s play area, a family zone, food trucks, food tents, a picnic table tent, a beer tent and more. A Fourth of July parade will travel down Main Street starting at 10 a.m. July 4, and fireworks will launch from the Wisconsin River starting at dusk July 5.
Wisconsin Rapids
Festivities at the Wisconsin Rapids Independence Day Celebration & Fireworks Show will start at 6 p.m. July 4 along both sides of the Wisconsin River. Mill Creek Cowtippers will perform from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. July 4 on Second Street between Grand Avenue and Jackson Street bridges. The Wisconsin Rapids City Band will also perform starting at 7:30 p.m. outside of Centralia Center, 220 Third Ave. S. Fireworks will start at dusk, or about 9:30 p.m. July 4, launching from the Wisconsin River.
