The Tennessee Titans are beginning to look surprisingly familiar. Another familiar face to the New York Jets joined former head coach Robert Saleh down south in Nashville.
According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Tennessee Titans are signing a veteran defensive lineman this fan base is familiar with.
Jalyn Holmes, another player with Jets ties, will sign with the Titans. That further strengthens an ongoing and bizarre connection between the two organizations.
Holmes spent the 2025 season with the Washington Commanders, appearing in 10 games and recording 21 tackles. His arrival in Tennessee may not generate national headlines, but it continues a trend that has become impossible to ignore. Former Jets continue finding their way to Robert Saleh.
When the Titans hired Saleh as their head coach, many expected him to bring some familiar faces along with him. Few could have predicted just how many. Tennessee’s coaching staff already features several former Jets assistants: Marquand Manuel (defensive backs and safeties), Tony Oden (defensive pass game coordinator and cornerbacks), Tanzel Smart (assistant defensive line), and Aaron Whitecotton (defensive run game coordinator and defensive line).
Each previously worked alongside Saleh during various stages of his time in New York. The player side of the equation is equally interesting.
Quarterback Hendon Hooker, running back Michael Carter, safety Tony Adams, and offensive lineman Austin Deculus all have ties to the Jets. The Titans also added four pass rushers New York will recognize: Jermaine Johnson, Jacob Martin, Solomon Thomas, and John Franklin-Myers. Holmes now joins that growing list.
At some point, coincidence becomes a pattern. The continued overlap between the two organizations adds another layer of intrigue to the regular-season opener.
The Jets have also welcomed several former Titans into the fold. Chris Harris, Shawn Jefferson, Brian Natkin, Al Netter, and Junior Taylor all have ties to Tennessee. The roster includes former Titans Jarvis Brownlee Jr., Samuel Womack III, T’Vondre Sweat, and Xavier Newman-Johnson.
That mutual familiarity should make Week 1 one of the more interesting opening-week matchups around the league.
Jets Wire will continue to provide updates throughout the 2026 offseason.
