A flash flood warning has been issued for Rockland County and parts of northern New Jersey on Tuesday, June 23.
The National Weather Service said rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour are possible in communities including Suffern, New City, Nanuet and Nyack in Rockland County, as well as Ramsey, Ringwood, Wayne and Pompton Lakes in northern New Jersey.
Heavy rain and thunderstorms could lead to flash flooding in small creeks and streams, urban areas, roadways and other low-lying locations with poor drainage. Storms are expected throughout much of Tuesday.

Showers and thunderstorms are likely throughout the day, though activity could taper off by about 8 p.m.
Cloudy skies are expected with a high near 72 degrees. Overnight, conditions should gradually clear, with temperatures falling to around 58 degrees.
